Sunday April 15th saw 45 dogs and their families enjoy a fun walk with cryptic questions to answer, and some great games and competitions. It was such a joy to witness families exercising and enjoying themselves with their dogs. All of the dogs were really well behaved, we didn't have any altercations, and some of the dogs had the privilege of being treated to a session at the pampered pooch parlour.
Sandra and Paul Kernich did a great job on the BBQ, cooking the sausages for the sausage sizzle. Sandra and Paul donated the sausages, and Kate and Brett Exelby from Baker's Delight in Renmark donated the bread - thank-you to both for their generous support.
Mary Geddie organised for RSPCA merchandise to be available for purchase on the day and did a great job running the RSPCA stall.
Andrew Haig from Riverland Sport and Recreation provided us with some great give-aways and was a fantastic judge for the competitions, not an easy task to judge the "waggiest tail" and the "fastest sit" among other things. Paula Wachtel did a great job organising the games and competitions - there were some very happy winners. The dogs had so much fun playing tunnel ball and doing the "washing relay".
Melinda Baxter, from RivaPetz Pet Care, catered for those that like to look their best at all times, and offered pamper sessions for pooches. They were treated to a full body brush, spray with the latest doggie cologne from Squirt and dressed with a very attractive bandana. The challenge for the day was the Newfoundland, who weighed more than Melinda, but thoroughly enjoyed his pamper sessions - why wouldn't he when he had 3 very attractive young ladies fussing over him.
